Oops - 8 matches without a win.
Dr Pangloss would say that 7 draws out of those 8 is pretty good.

I'm not so sure.

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
Fordy, if you honestly don't know whether we'll pick up more points or not second half of the season, than we did last time out, then surely you're not best placed to have an opinion on the managerial capabilities of Bilic?

Going on what you are saying, surely you'd think that we'll definitely crumble and end up slipping further down the table, even when the injured players return?

i don't think that'll be the case.

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
So where do you think we should be in the table then Fordstar?

And what areas of the pitch are pussycats if it's not in the middle, or is in the middle, who knows.

Why do you keep threatening not to elaborate on this and not answer the question?

You obviously can't handle talking about it in depth other than making a statement without much thought behind it.

Agree Darby......Our squad has been progressing for the past 4 seasons.

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
Once upon a time, if we had an injury crisis we'd be in danger of relegation.

Now when we have an injury crisis we're in danger of slipping down to mid table.

That's progress in my book.

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
In an effort to bring about some balance to this particular debate, I think it is fair to say that since Payet and others picked up injuries we have regressed to a style that is almost identical to the BFS "play book".

But we should not overlook the fact that after catching the Premiership by surprise in August and Sept with our away performances, we last won 11 vs 11 against Man City away on Sept 19th. We have won 2 at home.

Now that does not tell the whole story as the reason players were getting sent off was their inability to contain us. But things look a little different when you realise we have not beaten a side with 11 players over 90 mins since mid Sept?

We have naturally made ourselves hard to score against as our ability to score went with Sakho, Payet and Lanzini.

In summary I think we were never as good as we appeared while lying 4th in the Prem and it is no surprise we are slipping back to "respect the point" with most of the new and creative signings injured.

The squad is stronger this season no doubt but nowhere near the expectations of many fans. Last season we ended up at the lower end of the table. This season with injuries we should not be surprised if we end up a tad higher in mid table. We are not quite as good as we think.

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
So the midfield is not part of the team? are they coping or not?

Also while you're back answering questions where do you think we should be in the table?

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
Crystal palace have finished above us the last 2 seasons.

Considering they were actually close to extinction I think they're a much better run club than us.

Who said midfield RON son.

I said TEAM.

Fucking liven yourself up son

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
Have we not got more talent than those 3 clubs ron?

Palace have finished above us 3 seasons running I think. They've also had umpteen different managers in that time.

Rodfarts 2:58 Mon Dec 28
Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
It's pretty obvious that we have a squad capable of finishing in the top 6 or 7 this season.

But that bit extra that a good coach adds isn't there.

I expect us to finish 10th-12th

Which will be a MASSIVE fail with our squad and how the usual top 6 teams are playing this season.

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
It isn't very good is it, but at least we now know that the squad just isent good enough.

i-Ron 2:55 Mon Dec 28
Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
Brentford why should we be above them? They've played well and got points on the board. Same goes for Leicester. Why've you left them out?
It's clear you're basing league standings on the reputation of the club rather than talent. That's delusional.

Rodfarts 2:54 Mon Dec 28
Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
Why did you pick them 2 out Ron SON?

I said TEAM son.

Re: Oops - 8 matches without a win.
I haven't looked at the table in detail since the last game but we must only be about 6 points off 3rd?

It is a fact (sort of) that if Payet & Lanzini hadn't got injured we would have won 2 games in the last 6.
